Separating Agent-Functioning and Inter-Agent Coordination by Activated Modules: The DECOMAS Architecture

چکیده
The embedding of self-organizing inter-agent processes in distributed software applications enables the decentralized coordination system elements, solely based on concerted, localized interactions. The separation and encapsulation of the activities that are conceptually related to the coordination, is a crucial concern for systematic development practices in order to prepare the reuse and systematic integration of coordination processes in software systems. Here, we discuss a programming model that is based on the externalization of processes prescriptions and their embedding in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). One fundamental design concern for a corresponding execution middleware is the minimal-invasive augmentation of the activities that affect coordination. This design challenge is approached by the activation of agent modules. Modules are converted to software elements that reason about and modify their host agent. We discuss and formalize this extension within the context of a generic coordination architecture and exemplify the proposed programming model with the decentralized management of (web) service infrastructures.

Approach to Organizing the Functioning of Smart Elements in the Multi-Agent “Smart House” System
A research was conducted to form an approach to the design and implementation of a multi-agent control system of smart elements for a “Smart house”. The system was built on the example of three intelligent robots. In the architecture of the system under development, the main part is the subject-independent multi-agent kernel, which includes the following basic components: direct access service,...
متن کاملIntegrating High-Level and Detailed Agent Coordination into a Layered Architecture
Multi-agent coordination is an important and complicated process. This paper proposes a layered approach to coordination in which low-level domain independent coordination and scheduling modules deal with detailed temporal and resource constraints and high-level controllers focus on domain issues and domain state. A general agent architecture is described based on this agent control model. The ...
متن کاملConflict Resolution for Multi- Agent Hybrid Systems
A conflict resolution architecture for multi-agent hybrid systems with emphasis on Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) is presented. In such systems, conflicts arise in the form of potential collisions which are resolved locally by inter-agent coordination. This results in a decentralized architecture in which safety issues are resolved locally and central agencies, such as Air Traffic Contro...

In this paper, we apply agent technology to develop autonomous WfMS with a separately coordinative interface to fulfill the consideration of security for inter-organizational applications. The proposed agent-based coordinative WfMS (ACWS) are implemented on a JADE platform containing three normal containers. The client container works as an agent pool to support client’s operations about submit...
متن کاملAn Agent-Based Model for Autonomic Coordination of Inter-Organizational Business Processes
Inter-Organizational Workflow (IOW) aims at supporting the collaboration between several autonomous and heterogeneous business processes, distributed over different enterprises or organizations. Coordination of these processes is a fundamental issue that has been mainly addressed in a static context, but it still remains open in a dynamic one such as the Internet in which IOW applications are m...
